- •Blurring and pixelation are aesthetic obscurations, NOT cryptographically secure redactions. Machine-learning models or de-blurring algorithms can sometimes partially reconstruct underlying patterns. For critical security redaction of passwords or keys, use opaque solid black fill.
- Censorship zones are burned directly into the output pixel array in browser memory.
- Raw, unredacted images never touch an external cloud server.
Common Practical Use Cases
Privacy Protection in Public Photography
Blur bystander faces and vehicle license plates before publishing photos to social media.
Redacting Document Screenshots
Pixelate personal account numbers and addresses on screenshots before sharing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is blurred or pixelated text completely unrecoverable?
Caution: Light blur and low-radius pixelation can sometimes be partially inverted or deciphered using machine-learning pattern recognition. For high-security redaction of passwords or sensitive numbers, consider blacking out the area completely with a solid color.
